Welcome to OUR place

At Southeastern Family Institute (SFI), you’ll find a caring staff where the special understanding and help you need is waiting for you.  We’re no strangers to the problems that individuals, couples and families face, and we’ve been helping them cope with those problems for over fifteen years .... single person  battling loneliness .... single parent carrying all the  responsibility with no time for themselves .... couples caring for elderly parents .... housewives too tired to stay awake past 9 p.m. .... husbands hating their jobs, and teenagers getting into trouble.  These problems are real.  And painful.  And the stress they cause can make you physically ill.  It’s simply too high a price to pay.

Well, there are PEOPLE who care..

"A year ago, I acquired a set of old Victorian buildings (adjacent to each other) in downtown Augusta with the dream of helping foster care kids to visit their parents regularly.  As changes in the funding systems occur, the dream hangs on and at times barely.  Although, dreams are not always built on how things appear, but rather on vision of a greater good,.  So, I guess that I would like to build this dream into a reality.

It is easy to set a goal, but a vision is given by God.  In my opinion, Confirmation of a vision is how comm and then personally enjoy it.  But to see a child's eyes light up when they see their parents whom they have been taken away from is priceless.  To see them smile and hug them and build their hopes on "one day we will be together again" is an active dream that I share with them.

With only a dream, I have acquired and have been remodeling those facilities (2 adjacent buildings and the program) for the last year and I believe that I would like to have a sense that children's lives will be touched by the actions of others.  This is a tangible goal and one I think is worthwhile.

I would like to think that by living this way "today", it would make "tomorrow" a better place for the children of our city.

I guess this is where my dreams are leading us ... seeing those dreams lived out in the lives of young ones of our town and helping them to feel loved and valued.  This would be a great vision and something that will last longer than ourselves.  So, I guess that this is my "living for today" goal.
