"Always Building for our Kids"
FOSTER CARE PARENT TRAINING – Beginning in March 2006, we will offer monthly ‘Impact’ training sessions for foster parents over issues related to being an effective foster parent. In addition to the compilation of the IMPACT studies, we will also provide "Lunch and Learn" training opportunities as a part of our offerings.
FOOD PANTRY SERVICES –
A new short-term assistance program begins in March 2006 to assist foster parents with obtaining food items. In partnership with the Golden Harvest Food Bank, we will create a food pantry to help foster parents in need. Foster families who participate in our training programs will be able to access our pantry.
AFTER-HOURS MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT
- Foster parents occasionally face major crises when foster children ‘act out.’ Those foster parents who are involved in our organization will be able to participate in our after-hours support program, and have direct and near-immediate access to and support from our staff of mental health professionals. We believe this will serve to assist overwhelmed foster parents and decrease the number of children displaced from their foster care placements.
